    • Carrier Adds / Co-locates

      • Overview
      • Capabilities
      • Network operators and wireless carriers are constantly broadening their reach and expanding their network capacity. This expansion comes in the form of entering new markets as well as adding their services to pre-existing structures. The latter can be a cost-effective way of improving coverage without a large capital outlay in the development of a full blown site.

Through our Carrier Add Solution, we partner with our clients to accommodate the exponential growth in data traffic demands, by increasing the capacity of existing sites and integrating their service into externally owned and operated towers. With thousands of deployments under our belt, we continue to successfully manage the relationships between our clients and the property and tower owners.

      • Our customers rely on us to help them expand 3G and 4G network capacity by installing and/or upgrading their technology on site. Core to this deliverable are the following:

        • Excellent relationships with all major tower owners and operators throughout the South.
        • Rapid mobilization to support large regional carrier add programs.
        • Extensive due diligence and site preparation including permits, civil and electrical modifications, and RF system upgrades.
        • Project closeout documentation and database/records updates.
    • Power

      • Overview
      • Capabilities
      • With ever increasing and expanding consumer demand, the impact of power outages on wireless networks has grown in recent years. 70% of power outages are caused by major weather events, such as thunder and lightning, ice storms, hurricanes, tornadoes and high winds. What may surprise you is the fact that our nationโ€™s aging electrical grid is responsible for 25% of outages; caused by high demand, equipment failure and fuel issues. Without warning, power outages can knock out your network for hours or even days. So it goes without saying that maintaining network uptime and reliability is critical to operating a wireless network.

Our crews have extensive experience with DC power system installation, upgrades, and removals. Batteries, UPS systems, chargers and monitors are all common components of a working system and are familiar with the design, installation and testing of these systems as well.

We recognize that network uptime is critical to our customers and their end users, which we why we offer a variety of tailor made solutions ranging from one-off temporary power deployment to annual regional generator and power maintenance coverage for anywhere from 10 to 1000 cell sites.

    • DAS

      • Overview
      • Capabilities
      • More than 50% of all calls and wireless data sessions originate or terminate inside buildings. In-building cellular coverage and capacity is a key component of maintaining uniform grade of customer’s wireless experience. So it should come as no surprise that Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) are considered, within the industry, to be an intricate part of the future of telecommunications.

Rolling out a sophisticated DAS system in an urban environment carries with it an entirely new wrinkle of complexity. At Diverse Construction we work closely with our customers, property owners, property management and its tenants to ensure that the system integration stays on schedule with the least amount of disruption as possible. Over the last few years our internal crews and I-9 certified sub-contractors have become adept at deploying both indoor and outdoor DAS systems for a number of our network operators.

      • Overview
      • Capabilities
      • Proactively inspecting and maintaining the integrity of cell site structures is one of the most important strategies a carrier can pursue to provide a competitive advantage and build customer loyalty. Overstressed structures that cannot support new technology overlays lead to deployment delays and leave customers looking for other options. Knowing what needs to be done ahead of time and proactively fixing problems helps mitigate these issues.

There is an additional benefit to continuously evaluating towers and other structures โ€“ monetization. Over time, climate factors will cause antennas and dishes to shift into positions that degrade performance. Weย proactively assesses the condition of equipment to identify and optimize microwave paths and antenna positions, ensuring that all equipment is operating at peak levels.

        • Full facility documentation โ€“ including tower mapping services that fully document every piece and type of equipment attached.ย  This work also provides the basic information engineers need to optimize antenna arrays and microwave paths.
        • Circuit tracing – empowering operators to quickly determine the root of service issues.ย  It also reveals novel ways to reposition equipment to reduce load and make room for next-gen technologies.
        • Site surveys – performs EIA/TIA structural engineering and climate pressure studies to determine if operators can move forward with new equipment installations.ย ย  If the structure is projected to fail, we can include specific structural enhancement recommendations as well as cost estimates for business case analysis.

        Our Story

      • In 1987, Kenneth A. Mulkey founded the Dallas-based general contracting company, primarily concentrating on residential and commercial new construction and remodel. Diverse Construction was grown from a startup contractor to a multi-skilled, multimillion dollar enterprise. Our company’s facilities are located at 1690 E. State Hwy 121, Lewisville, Texas, 75056. We are licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, Lousisiana, and Arkansas, and have executed successful projects in those states.

In 1993, cellular telephone use was rapidly growing, and Diverse Construction began exclusively working in this industry. By the year 2000, our company was becoming well known in the local area, providing civil, foundational, electrical, tower construction and RF installations. In addition to new construction, we also provided continuing maintenance programs for our clients. We bring to our clients a diverse array of construction expertise and a commitment to excellence.

Christi Tomlinson joined the company in January of 2001, bringing with her more than 25 years of accounting and management experience. The day to day operations of the company were divided, with Ken Mulkey responsible for Operations and Christi Tomlinson responsible for Human Resources and Accounting.

The company continued to grow and not only expanded it’s customer base, but also diversified; DCI began servicing the air conditioning and generators for over 600 Verizon Wireless cellular sites in North Texas and Oklahoma.

Our employees have a diverse offering of construction skills and certifications specific to cellular industry requirements, in addition to general contracting standards. Diverse Construction also has an extensive safety program which strives for a zero accident and injury rate. In addition to safety training in our office, we conduct toolbox safety meetings at the job-site and retain a third party safety firm to perform on-site inspections to confirm continual compliance.

In June of 2010, Diverse Construction became a Certified Women Owned business. We are planning for continued company growth and opportunities for all of our employees and their families who call Diverse Construction their home. We at Diverse Construction, Inc. are fully confident that we will not only fully meet every expectation of our customers, but will continually strive to exceed them.

        Safety

      • We’ve seen our industry evolve over the course of the last two decades, and with it so has our safety regulations and requirements. Our company strongly believes that investing time, money, and research into our training program is simply a critical asset. The importance of having a job done safely and efficiently is a top priority that equals added value to our customers. Having the best interest of our employees in mind, we’ve initiated the best company practices by incorporating the following:

We retain Engineering Safety Consultants to conduct regular safety and health audits on our work sites, and to keep our company current in research and development of the best industry practices and compliance with government regulations. We have a trained and appointed competent person on site at all times who is responsible for safety and health activities of all persons working on tower construction sites. All tower personnel working on a tower site will be trained in the OSHA 10-hour course or it’s equivalent.

We understand that safety is a choice. We provide our employees with current and accredited training and equipment to make sure every employee has the tools and the core base knowledge to make the best decision every time. Our goal is to have every employee return home safely.

        Standards

        Higher Standards

Within DCI, all of our Project Managers have completed the OSHA 30-hour course and Advanced Tower Climbing Saftey and Rescue courses. Our Tower Technicians are Qualified Competent Climbers per OSHA standards, and have completed Tower Climbing and Rescue Training, OSHA 30-hour courses, Winter Survival, CPR and First Aid, as well as additional customer-directed training. Every year in January our crews participate in mandatory Climber Safety, Fall Protection, Tower Rescue, CPR and First Aid classes.

On the jobsite, Site Supervisors lead daily tailgate safety meetings to assess and discuss potential jobsite hazards, as well as to keep safety uppermost in everyone’s mind. Our crews are instructed to focus on safety, and every effort is made to make safety a way of life.

        Substance Abuse Policy

Because impaired capability places the lives of every team member at risk, Diverse Construction maintains a Zero-Tolerance Substance Abuse Policy. Any applicant interesting in joining our team will be required to submit to a drug test, which we are ceritfied to perform here on site at our corporate headquarters. We also have a randomized drug testing software that will periodically require a certain subset of our employees to submit an additional test. The safety and health of our team is our highest priority.

        Driver Competence

A background check and DOT-screening, including drug-screen, are required of all personnel pre-employment. Each potential drive participates in a drive test and each driver’s record is submitted for verification of insurability. Drug and alcohol testing occur at random, as well as when indicated.

        Security

Our extensive pre-employment screening, our zero-tolerance policies, and our company culture of integrity open the door for only honest, reliable omployees. Our crews routinely pass clearance screenings for government and energy site access.

      • Diverse Construction enjoys strong relationships with many of the largest and most successful telecom companies, global technology leaders and broadcast groups in the US. Additionally, DCI is fortunate to have relationships with many federal, state and local government agencies, utilities and tower owners.
